Kilimanjaro challenge

Paul Sanderson, from our Electrical Services team, recently visited Africa to take part in the Kiliwheels challenge and has completed a climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro!

The purpose of the trip, which began on 15th August, was to raise money for a number of charities; the Cancer Care, Alex House charity and a the Kilimanjaro Orphanage.

To add to the challenge the whole team had to work together to make sure everyone made it to the top including Shaun, who is a T5/6 paraplegic.

Paul commended “A large portion of the team were brought together by Shaun as the common connection, it was incredible to see people of different backgrounds being able to work together and support each other to achieve the same purpose having mostly only met for the first time days earlier. There were many physical and mental challenges over the 9 day trip and working together we were able to reach the summit and come through the lows and enjoy the highs. As a group we managed to raise over 40,000$USD for a number of charities although visiting the orphanage in Tanzania was what made the trip extra special. Without the support from friends, family and colleagues we would not have been able to make the impact we did. Now it’s time to think of the next challenge ahead. “

K2 Korea Staff enjoys Teambuilding Event - ATV riding & Shooting competition

On 3rd July, K2 Korea had an exciting teambuilding event – riding quad bikes and a shooting competition.

It was about a one and a half hour ride on the quad bikes up to Mount GyeRyong, both on paved road and off-road. Driving through the mountain the team had both fresh air and great views. This helped to relieve their stress and take their minds away from work for a day. When they reached the top of the mountain, the view was not the only thing to take their breath away, but also seeing a very historical building; the remains of an American signal corps from the Korean War. During the quad biking the whole team enjoyed the speed and off road riding however the top priority was of course on safety.

After ATV riding, a shooting competition of balloons with BB guns was held. Thanks to Joshua Wang for providing the BB guns. It was expected that the guys would be good in shooting as most of them served in the military, but surprisingly, the shooting skills of K2’s female employees were also outstanding – natural snipers!. The whole K2 Korea Team had great fun and an exciting experience that has helped to bond the team further.
